Delete your account

You can delete your Pilgrim Companion account and the personal data associated with it at any time — in the app, or by email if you no longer have the app.

Delete your account in the app

  • iPhone / iPad: Settings → Account → Manage Account → Delete Account, then confirm.
  • Android: Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm.

This permanently deletes your account and the data stored with it, listed below. Please update to the latest version of the app first. If Pilgrim Companion asks you to sign in again, do so and repeat the steps — this confirms the account is yours. Guest users have no account to delete.

Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, send us a deletion request from the email address linked to your account.

Or email hamzarehan83@gmail.com with the subject Pilgrim Companion account deletion request. We may ask you to verify that the account belongs to you, and we complete verified requests within 30 days. Never send us your password or one-time sign-in codes.

What is deleted

  • Your Pilgrim Companion account (Apple or Google sign-in)
  • Your profile: display name, gender preference and language
  • Synced guide progress and bookmarks
  • Your group memberships, your member entry in each group and your last shared location
  • Groups you own pass to another member (an admin first); a group with no other members is deleted
  • Questions you sent through Ask a Scholar or support, where we are not required to keep them

What is not deleted

  • Data only on your device — downloaded content, preferences and offline data. Remove it by deleting the app.
  • Purchase records held by Apple or Google for subscriptions and gifts. These are managed by the store, not by us.
  • Limited information we must keep for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons, kept only as long as required.

Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID subscriptions settings or in the Google Play Store first.
