What Visual Shield processes
Browser extension
The extension analyses frames from supported web videos and images inside your browser to detect the categories you select, such as people and faces. The analysis and concealment process runs locally on your device. Image and video pixels are not uploaded to Visual Shield servers.
For certain cross-origin images that the browser prevents a page canvas from reading, the extension may request the same image URL already displayed by the website so that it can analyse that image locally.
Android application
When you start protection, Android asks for consent to capture the screen. Captured frames are analysed in memory on your device. They are not saved, recorded, uploaded, or shared by Visual Shield. Capture stops when you stop protection.
iOS application
Photos, videos, and camera previews you choose are processed locally. A filtered result is saved or shared only when you request that action.
Information stored on your device
Visual Shield stores settings such as enabled filters, effect, strength, performance mode, presets, and per-site or per-app rules. Browser-extension settings are stored using the browser's local extension storage. Visual Shield does not operate an account or cloud-sync service.
Information we do not collect
- No account or identity profile
- No browsing-history database
- No advertising identifiers
- No analytics or behavioural tracking
- No sale or sharing of personal information
- No face recognition or identity matching; faces are detected, not identified
Third-party components
The browser extension includes local machine-learning models and MediaPipe runtime files packaged with the extension. On Android, supported detection features may use Google ML Kit through Google Play services; Google Play services may download model components. Visual Shield does not send captured screen content to Google or other parties.

Data retention and deletion

Children's privacy
Visual Shield is a general-purpose privacy tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults.
